Good Communication


Regular staff meetings allow for exchange of ideas, management staff are always available and an "open" door policy operates whereby any member of staff may discuss any matter with the management team. We listen to and respect all comments made by the staff and our managers are always available with employment issues.

Training


The company attempts to fulfil the development of all staff, and we aim to enable them to fulfil and maximise their role effectively.

Staff are expected and encouraged to contribute and actively participate in their own development.

Training needs are identified and appropriate programmes are planned to enhance performance and build on existing skills and expertise.

All registered nurses are encouraged to attend relevant courses and study days to maintain their clinical skills and develop skills.

After six months and on completion of the Foundation Training Course, the home manager or senior registered nurse reviews the progress our care assistants in preparation for selection for NVQ Training.

All catering staff complete the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent. Any staff involved with the serving of food are given training in Food Safety and Hygiene.

All Staff attend training in the following areas:

1. Fire Procedures
2. Manual Handling of Loads
3. Health and Safety Awareness

Individual training records are maintained for all staff.

Senior positions (Key Responsibilities)

Home Manager


The Home Manager has overall management responsibility for the home, providing leadership to staff and working within the established budgets. The Home manager ensures budgets and the financial performance of the home is met. The Home Manager has to maximise the profitability (including the budget profits) of the home. Initiating and participating in a targeted and systematic marketing activities. Monitoring and maintaining high standards of nursing and services to service users. Representing and promoting the Home and Company with due professionalism at all times.

Administrator


To assist the Home Manager to maintain efficient operation of the Home to the highest professional standards and to assist in ensuring that the financial performance of the Home meets the agreed targets.

Registered Nurses


To achieve the highest standards of nursing and professional practice through direct nursing care and effective supervision of staff.

Senior Care Assistant

The senior care assistants role is both supervisory and practical ensuring all planned care is delivered to individual residents professionally and efficiently while adhering to the company's philosophy, policies and procedures on individual care plans.

To ensure confidentiality regarding the residents at the home.

To supervise care assistants within the unit and contribute to the development and effectiveness of teams and individuals.

Care Assistants (Nursing Auxiliaries)


To undertake, under supervision of the Registered Nurse, all duties in regards to the well being of the residents by delivering the highest standards of care in a professional manner.

House Keepers

To undertake general cleaning within the Alpha Care homes. Experience in commercial or hospital environments an advantage.

Chef

Experienced chef required. Must be able to plan meals suitable for the elderly. Experience within the health care sector an advantage.
